An integrative approach
I believe that people are complex and that no single therapeutic model has all the answers.
My training in counseling psychology provides my clinical foundation. Alongside this, I have pursued extensive training and personal exploration across different psychological, emotional, embodied, and experiential approaches.
My toolbox includes:
Internal Family Systems
Emotion Focused Therapy
Adlerian psychology
Attachment theory
Polyvagal informed approaches
Trauma informed work
Neuro-Emotional Reset
Embodiment and body based practices
Breathwork
Meditation
Other experiential and integrative approaches
One person, one approach
I do not believe that every client needs the same method.
Instead, I listen carefully to the person in front of me and consider what may best support their particular needs, personality, history, circumstances, and goals.
My role is not to fit you into a therapeutic model.
It is to bring the right tools to the work.
Sometimes we need to understand a pattern intellectually.
Sometimes we need to work with emotions.
Sometimes we need to pay attention to what is happening in the body.
Sometimes we need to explore relationships and attachment.
And sometimes a more experiential approach can open a door that insight alone has not been able to open.
The mind and the body
I am particularly interested in the relationship between psychological experience and the body.
We can understand something intellectually and still find ourselves repeating the same pattern.
We can know that we want to change and still feel unable to do so.
This is why I draw from approaches that work not only with thoughts and insight, but also with emotions, nervous system responses, bodily experience, and deeply learned patterns.
The work behind the work
My own personal exploration has been an important part of my development.
I have experienced a broad range of approaches, from conventional talk therapy to bodywork, breathwork, meditation, and other forms of personal and experiential exploration.
These experiences have given me a deep respect for the fact that people change in different ways.
I do not believe there is one path to healing or growth.
My aim is to meet each client where they are and help them discover what supports meaningful and lasting change for them.
Neuro-Emotional Reset
For clients for whom a more focused experiential approach is appropriate, I also offer Neuro Emotional Reset sessions.
Neuro-Emotional Reset is a nervous system oriented process designed to support change in emotional and stress response patterns.
The approach uses tapping and bilateral stimulation and is intended to help clients work with emotionally charged experiences and patterns that may persist even when they understand them intellectually.
Sessions are approximately 90 minutes.
I use this approach selectively, based on the needs and preferences of the individual client.
